OUR VISION FOR DANCE CONCERT DAY

Our goal for Dance Concert Day is simple… to make it the BEST DAY EVER for our dancers!

Our dancers work so hard ALL year long for this one special performance, and we want every moment, from the second they arrive to the final bow, to feel magical, joyful, and unforgettable for both dancers and parents. We are committed to creating an experience that is easy, fun, safe, smooth, and truly special from beginning to end.

If at any point something doesn’t feel aligned with that vision, please don’t hesitate to let us know right away. We are always ready to jump in, make adjustments, and improve instantly so every member of our Thrive Family has an incredible experience and memories that will last for years to come.

WHAT DAY IS THE DANCE CONCERT?

Our 15th Annual Dance Concert Series “Harmony” Show 1 (Tiny Stars) will be held on Sunday June 14, 2026 @ 10:00AM at the Fred Kavli Theatre in the Bank of America Performing Arts Center formally known as the ‘Civic Arts Plaza’.  The Dance Concert series includes four performances featuring different age groups. Our Tiny Star Show is for dancers ages 2-3 who are in Tiny Star classes and the show color is orange.  Be sure to look for all communication that references the Dance Concert “Harmony” with an orange header.

WHAT TIME SHOULD MY DANCER ARRIVE?

Tiny Stars Show Call Time: Sunday June 14th 8:45AM

“Call Time” is the time that Tiny Star dancers and their Backstage Chaperone need to arrive at the theater on the day of the Dance Concert. Dancers should arrive in their first costume with hair and make up complete, ready to take the stage. They can wear a cover up (bathrobe, long button down shirt etc.) over their costume to protect their costume during arrival and while waiting backstage.

Dancers & their parent chaperone must arrive early to get situated in their dressing rooms and prepare for their performance.

All performers will attend an on stage meeting shortly after their Call Time so please be on time.

WHAT IS A BACKSTAGE CHAPERONE? (REQUIRED)

Chaperone Requirement: Every Tiny Star dancer must be accompanied by an adult (18+) chaperone of the same gender so they can comfortably access the appropriate dressing room spaces together. From the moment you arrive to the final Curtain Call, chaperones will be right by their dancer’s side, backstage, in the dressing rooms, and even joining them on stage for that special final bow!

The only time you’ll be apart is during your dancer’s performance, but don’t worry… you’ll have an incredible up close view from the wings! Watching from the side of the stage is such a magical experience you won’t forget.

DO CHAPERONES NEED TO BUY A TICKET?

Our Tiny Star dancers and their backstage chaperone do not need a ticket because they’ll be part of the magic happening behind the scenes the entire time! Instead of sitting in the audience, they’ll be backstage, getting ready, sharing special moments with their classmates, and experiencing the excitement of the show from a behind the scenes perspective.

Being backstage is such a fun and memorable experience for our little dancers, it’s where the magic comes to life!

Tickets are only needed for family and friends who will be enjoying the show from the audience and cheering on their Tiny Star from their seats. Chaperones will also be able to watch their tiny dancer, but with a special view from the wings! The best seat in the house!

HOW DO I PURCHASE TICKETS?

Tickets went on sale on Saturday March 28, 2026. You can purchase them at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center Box Office or from home on Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $40 for Standard seating and $50 for Premium seating. Keep in mind that there are 4 shows in the Dance Concert Series “Harmony” and all 4 shows are different. Be sure you know what show your dancer is in before purchasing your tickets. You can see the list of classes that are in each show on our Dance Concert Webpage. The box office charges a small processing fee per ticket and Ticketmaster charges a larger processing fee per ticket. Tickets are reserved seating so purchase your tickets early! Everyone entering the facility needs a ticket. Children 2 years old and under are permitted to sit on your lap however you need to obtain a complimentary ticket from the box office.

WHAT TO EXPECT ONCE YOU ARRIVE

Tiny Star dancers and their chaperones will arrive at the venue and make their way to the Check-In Table, where each dancer will be warmly welcomed and checked in before heading backstage.

Then comes a truly magical moment…Our Tiny Stars and their chaperones will be escorted onto the Fred Kavli stage for their very first look at the theater! Standing on stage, seeing the bright lights, where the audience will sit and the entire theater from a performer’s point of view is such an exciting and unforgettable experience. Chaperones will be right by their side as they take it all in, wide-eyed, proud, and ready for their big moment.

After their trip to the stage, Tiny stars and their chaperones will be escorted to their dressing rooms where our Thrive Prince & Princess will be making a very special visit to wish all of the dancers a wonderful performance.

Dancers will be called to the stage when it’s time for their performance.

As the show comes to a close, it’s time for one more magical moment… the Curtain Call! We’ll invite all of our Tiny Stars and their chaperones back to the stage for one final celebration. This is your dancer’s chance to step onto the big stage again and soak in the excitement of everything they’ve accomplished this year!

Hand-in-hand with their chaperone, our Tiny Stars will make their way across the stage, waving and saying one last “thank you” to their family and friends in the audience. It’s a sweet, proud, and joy-filled moment you won’t want to miss.

After our magical Curtain Call, the show will come to a close but the celebration is just beginning! All dancers and their chaperones will make their way back to the check-in area, where smiling faces, hugs, and proud moments are waiting as they reconnect with their family. This is the perfect time to receive flowers, take photos with family and friends (or our Thrive Prince & Princess) and to celebrate your dancer’s big accomplishment. The dancers get to soak in all the joy of a job well done. We are SO proud of all of our dancers!

HOW LONG IS THE SHOW?

The length of the show can vary based on several factors, including the number of performances and the flow of the event. While we aim to keep our shows engaging and running smoothly with minimal downtime, unexpected delays can occasionally occur, especially when working with young dancers. Since it’s a live performance, the exact duration isn’t known until the day of the show, but we generally provide a slightly overestimated time frame to account for any adjustments.

The Tiny Star Show is anticipated to be approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

DOES MY DANCER HAVE TO STAY UNTIL THE END OF THE SHOW?

Yes. At the end of each show, all of our dancers take the stage for the Curtain Call and their final bows. This special moment allows them to come together one last time, celebrating their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

Hand-in-hand with their chaperone, our Tiny Stars will make their way across the stage, waving and saying one last “thank you” to their family and friends in the audience. It’s a sweet, proud, and joy-filled moment you won’t want to miss.

WHERE DO I PARK?

On the day of performances, the Bank Of America Performing Arts Center charges a parking fee for each vehicle. No cars will be allowed to park in any other parking lot. Any cars without the proper permits in other lots will be immediately towed.

WHERE DO I GO WHEN I ARRIVE

On the day of the Dance Concert, parents will park in the main parking structure at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center and walk their dancers past the fountain area to our check-in tables. For the safety of our dancers, the backstage area is closed to the public. Only Tiny Star chaperones will be allowed backstage with their dancers.

CAN DANCERS GO INTO THE AUDIENCE/LOBBY?

To ensure their safety and uphold theater etiquette and professionalism, dancers must remain backstage in their dressing rooms with their chaperone for the duration of the performance and intermissions. Performers are not allowed to cross through into the audience at any time.

COSTUMES

Costumes are handed out in classes February - May. You will receive an email once your dancer's class costume has arrived with information on how to care for the costume. Please make sure that all costumes are in good condition, fit properly and have all of the necessary pieces when you take them home. This must be done PRIOR to photo days and the dance concert. You have 24 hours once you have received the costume to let us know if you foresee any issues with your costume. After the 24 hour deadline any potential issues are the responsibility of the parent. After receiving costumes, any issues that might occur are at the expense of the parent. Do not wear, wash or iron costumes prior to the performance to prevent damage. For details on hair, accessories, hemming etc. please see the costume book located at the front desk or in your Thrive Customer Portal.

HAIR

Dancers with long hair should wear their hair pulled back in a low ponytail. Dancers with hair that’s too short to be pulled into a ponytail should wear their hair pulled back out of their face. Dancers should bring extra hair supplies with them to the performance (hair ties, bobby pins, gel, brush).

MAKE UP

All dancers should wear makeup for their Show. Makeup allows the dancer’s expressions to be seen under the bright stage lights. Our youngest dancers ages 2-6 should wear eye shadow, mascara, red lipstick & pink blush (eyeliner is optional). Our older dancers ages 7+ should wear full stage make up: foundation, powder, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, blush, red lipstick. Dancers should bring their own makeup to the performance for touch ups. Please check out the Makeup Tutorial Link or stop by the front desk and check the Costume Book. For our Tiny Star dancers (ages 2-3) makeup is optional but please keep in mind you will be able to see their expressions better on stage with it.

DRESSING ROOM ASSIGNMENTS

Dancers are assigned to dressing rooms based on the show line up, how many dances they are in and other specifics. If you have sibling dancers that are in separate rooms that would like to be together, please let us know. Do keep in mind however that sometimes the siblings would prefer to be with their classmates rather than with their sibling.
